REPORT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Dear Students,

Please find the report submission guidelines. The last date of submission of soft copy of the report to the guide is 8th December 2017. The format to be followed for the report is attached below. Apart from the chapter mentioned, please attach the time line of the project work and future work to be done at the end of the report. Also make sure that not more than 15% of the content is plagiarized, more than 85% unique content is needed.  For further information please contact your respective guide.

INTERNAL EVALUATION of M.TECH thesis and seminar

The VIVA of M.TECH thesis is scheduled to be held on 22nd NOV 2017. So it is informed that all students are required to be present on the said date at the scheduled time.

Room no- 105 (might change, will be confirmed the day before)
Time 9.30 am onwards.

 The students are required to prepare for 2 VIVA (thesis and seminar)- ppts (1 for seminar and another for thesis)

NOTE:
  1. Thesis presentation should cover objective of project, methodology,  progress of project and  timeline of the project.
  2. Seminar should contain the detailed literature review.
  3. 15 min will be given per each ppt to each student.

A progress review presentation is scheduled on 28th October 2017. The presentation should cover objective of project, methodology, literature review and timeline of the project. 15 minutes will be given to each student so plan accordingly the number of slides in your presentation. reminder for signing the undertaking, submission of abstract and methodology

This is to remind you all that the last date(s) for first level milestones of project is as,

signing the undertaking form: 11th September

Submission of Abstract of your project: 15th September

Submission of Methodology alongwith the Timeline: 29th September



Guidelines for the use of lab by project students

The lab(s) shall be available for doing project work to the students of UG and PG as per the below guidelines,

* The lab needs to be booked by the student prior to working in the lab, may be at least a day in advance
* The lab shall be booked only when the student/ group has the written permission of use of the lab from the supervisor and HOD
* The lab shall be booked for a maximum time of 2 hrs, at a stretch
* The lab shall be booked only if the lab and any lab-tech is free at that time
* Two BTech projects OR 3 MTech students can book the lab simultaneously. More than this shall not be allowed.
* The student shall leave the lab in the same condition as it was before they started working.
* If they leave the lab/ equipment not cleaned, they may not be allowed to book the lab again
* No student shall be using the materials from the lab. They shall be bringing their own materials.
* If they are casting cubes/ cylinders/ slabs etc., the  cube/ cylinders/ slabs etc. should have their name(s) written so that it is not used by others
* The TT when the lab techs are free are (it may change if the TT is again revised),

Piyush:
MON: 3-5th period
TUE: 1-5th period
WED: 1-5th period
FRI: 6-8th period

Lalit:
MON: 1-3rd period
TUE: 1-4th period
THU: 1-2nd period
FRI: 5-6th period

guidelines for the project



the below guidelines and dates shall be applicable for the 7th semester btech and 3rd semester mtech project,

1. since the project and guide has been allocated, the student need to meet the guide and sign the undertaking before starting the project. the last date for reporting to the guide is 8th sept. if the project is not allocated, you shall be allocated a project by end of the day tomorrow, i.e., 7th sept. you still have to see your guide by 8th and sign the undertaking. the faculty need to submit the undertaking to me by 12th sept.

2. the student/ group shall submit the abstract of the project in a week time. the last date for submission of abstract is 15th sept

3. once the abstract has been approved, a detail methodology needs to be submitted by 29th sept, in consultation with the guide

4. every group shall be reporting to the guide, once a week. attendance for this shall be recorded with the guide. the day and time of the meeting shall be decided in mutual consultation depending upon the classes of the student and/ or the guide

5. in every meeting, a four slide presentation shall be done by the student/ group which shall detail what was done in the week and what are the plans for the coming week

6. the detail literature survey shall be done by the student/ group in the first half of the project (in the current term) and experimental study shall only start at the end of the term. without the background study no experiment shall begin.

7. there shall be interim review (monthly) of the project as per the announced dates and based upon the availability of panel members. the dates shall be informed to you in a week's time. marks obtained in these interim reviews shall be added towards the internal marks

8. any student, not reporting for the weekly meeting shall be marked absent and no marks shall be given to him. these marks shall count towards the internal marks of the project

9. mtech students have three parts viz., seminar, project and dissertation-1. seminar shall be the literature review or any other topic which shall mutually be decided between the guide and the student. project and dissertation shall be the work being done by the student on the agreed topic.

any other changes to the above guidelines shall be communicated to you as and when it is decided

Those who have not even applied for the project shall be allocated project topic randomly.You are given another chance for the selection of the project topic and this shall be today i.e., 6th Sept, 2017. No extension to this shall be allowed.

M Tech project selection form

You are advised to select as many topics as you can (in the order of preference) and fill the same in the below google form,

The last date for filling the form and selecting the topics is 31st August, 2017. If student(s) have not selected the topic by the last date, random topic shall be allotted and no change to the same shall be entertained.

Based upon the choices filled, a supervisor and the topic shall be allocated to you by 5th September, 2017. The detail guidelines for the project shall be shared in due course of time.
